Morning, waking in a hundred-year-old garden

The bedrooms look out on a quiet Japanese garden, where a pine has watched over this place for more than a hundred years. Season by season the view changes, and the hours pass unhurried.

A waterwheel and a threshing machine welcome you, evoking the nostalgia of stepping into everyday life of the past. The beauty that changes with each step is part of this garden’s charm.

This was our first stay in Shimo-Shinjo, and we were pleasantly surprised by how convenient and peaceful the area was. Umeda was just a direct train ride away, and Kyoto was also easy to access. Convenience stores and supermarkets nearby made our stay very comfortable. The house was beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean, with a wonderful traditional Japanese atmosphere. The highlight was definitely the large Japanese garden near the entrance. It is rare to find such a spacious and peaceful garden in Osaka city, and relaxing while looking out at it made the stay truly special.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The house was impeccably clean, full of history and character, very well equipped, and easy to access. It truly felt like a special place to stay. Our hosts made the experience even more memorable. They were incredibly kind, hospitable, helpful, and responsive, going above and beyond to make our stay special. They even helped us attend a local festival and assisted us with getting dressed for it. They then surprised us with a beautiful photo commemorating the experience—a thoughtful gift our family will treasure.
